Relaxation Strategies

One simple relaxation strategy is to follow these 4 simple steps for 10 minutes each day:

  1. Find a comfortable position, sit quietly and close your eyes.
  2. Starting at your feet relax your muscles. Work your way up to your head.
  3. Inhale through your nose and focus on your breathing.  Thoughts will try and distract you – as you exhale silently say 'ONE' in your mind.  Continue breathing consciously.
  4. To finish, sit quietly for a few moments and then open your eyes.
